Music has always played such a big part in my life. Although I have only played the saxophone in middle school band and don’t have much of any musical talent, music still is such a big part of my life and always has been.
I know I am not alone in saying this, but when I hear a song I feel like I am taken back to a moment in time. It’s as if I have my own time machine of sorts.
I have started to write this story that has been in my mind over the last 20 or so years. It has evolved just as my life has.
I wish I was a professional writer as much as I wish I was a musical talent.
I have let fear and anxiety steal this dream of sharing this story for too long.
So…with all its messy imperfections I introduce to you, ‘Millie Jo & The Somebodies She Used To Know.’
Title inspired by the Elliot Smith song. Story inspired by it also as well as other amazing songs. Based on real life events. The beautiful and tragic. If you are a fan of Cameron Crowe, Nick Hornby or Edgar Wright I believe ya may enjoy this musically inspired tale of mine.
I will continue to share as I write chapters.
Thank you for believing in me and my story.
XO, Christie Gee
