The last couple weeks have been pretty heavy on my heart with Hurricane Harvey devastating the Texas coast. (My home state) As hard has it is to watch this unfold, the beauty of the human soul pops it’s head in and comes together to be there for each other. Seeing strangers help one another makes you realize that there is still indeed a glimpse of beauty in humanity. <3 Today Hurricane Irma made its way the Caribbean bringing heavy rain and destructive winds. (up to 185 miles per hour) .
It’s now time again for all of us to get together and help those who are in the path of Hurricane Irma!!
Here are some wonderful photos my bestie, Lisa captured when she took a trip to the very places that Irma is threatening. As you can see it is a beautiful place, where beautiful people live. These people need our help.
Here is a list of the wonderful organizations that you can donate to to help both Hurricanes Irma and Harvey.
- Harvest Hope
- All Hands
- Red Cross
- Best Friends Society
- Convoy Of Hope
- Donors Choose
- Islamic Relief USA
- Matthew 25 Ministries
- Save The Children
- World Hope
- UJA Federation
This list comes from a much larger list from USA Today that you can find HERE.
It seems like most charities are still focused a lot on Hurricane Harvey, but I am sure that in the next couple days these organizations will also focus on Hurricane Irma victims.
Please find it in your heart to give. Even if you have just a small amount to give. A little goes a long way. <3
If you have any favorite charities that you like to give to, please leave them in the comments below and I will add to this list!
“I should like to help everyone if possible- Jew, Gentile, black men, white. We all want to help one another. Human beings are like that. We want to live by each others’ happiness, not by each other’s misery. We don’t want to hate and despise one another. In this world there is room for everyone. And the good earth is rich and can provide for everyone. The way of life can be free and beautiful…..” -Sir Charles Chaplin
“Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Enter, you who are blessed by my Father! Take what’s coming to you in this kingdom. It’s been ready for you since the world’s foundation. And here’s why:I was hungry and you fed me. I was thirsty and you gave me a drink. I was homeless and you gave me a room. I was shivering and you gave me clothes. I was sick and you stopped to visit. I was in prison and you came to me. Then those ‘sheep’ are going to say, ‘Master, what are you talking about? When did we ever see you hungry and feed you, thirsty and give you a drink? And when did we ever see you sick or in prison and come to you?’ Then the King will say, ‘I’m telling the solemn truth: Whenever you did one of these things to someone overlooked or ignored, that was me—you did it to me.”-Matthew 25:35-40
